Screenshotting an Instagram photo gives you a low-quality, cropped copy with the wrong dimensions. ClipStash saves the actual full-resolution image the creator uploaded โ every pixel, no cropping. Here's how.
๐ฑ Works on any device โ no app needed. Save full-res photos on iPhone, Android, or your computer, right in the browser.
Step 1 โ Copy the photo's link
In the Instagram app, open the photo, tap the three dots (โขโขโข) at the top of the post, and choose โCopy link.โ
Step 2 โ Open the photo downloader
Go to clipstash.app/photo in any browser.
Step 3 โ Paste and download
Paste the link and tap Download. You'll get the original image file โ the same resolution Instagram stores, with no compression added by us.
Why not just screenshot?
- Screenshots lose quality: they capture your screen, not the original file, so they're lower-resolution and often cropped.
- Screenshots include clutter: the username, buttons, and comments end up in the image.
- ClipStash gives the clean original: just the photo, at full size.
Only public photos can be downloaded. Save images for personal use and get permission before re-using someone else's work.
